Our vendors consist of a team of healthcare providers who are board-certified physicians, nurses, and support staff and that are committed to providing exceptional care to our community.
At the Annual Juneteenth 5K Run + Walk Festival, our philosophy is centered around personalized care that addresses the unique needs of each persons in attendance. We believe in taking a proactive approach to healthcare that considers the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of our community.
The Juneteenth 5K Run + Walk is going into its fourth year since its inception in 2020.
The idea of the Juneteenth 5K Run + Walk came to fruition for June already being recognized nationally as Men’s Health month. What better way of addressing the issue of health in a community of color than to get the family involved in a Juneteenth celebration!
The Metro East St. Louis Community Initiative, also known as MESLCI, has geared its focus of Men’s Health Month to being a family event that focuses on the health of the entire village and placing accountability on everyone to get up and get active using a “wrap around” approach that encourages everyone to take proactive measures regarding their personal health. The Annual 5K is a two-fold event as it addresses the issue of health disparities in this community of color and also raises money for sending kids to college or vocational school from funds raised from community participation and sponsorships.
